How To Make A Hair Bow Holder

If you have many hair clips and hair bows lying around your house, chances are you will want a way to organize them. And what better way to do that than to make a hair bow holder! In this tutorial we’ll go over how to make a hair bow holder from ribbon and netting.

What You Need To Make A Hair Bow Holder

  • Embroidery hoop
  • Ribbon (Make sure to use a good range of widths and colors to make the hair bow holder visually appealing)
  • Metal ring (to hang the finished hair bow holder)
  • Tulle
  • Hot glue gun and glue
  • Clamps

How To Make Your Hair Bow Holder – Step By Step

First, cut the embroidery hoop in half to form the base for the netting and ribbons.

Next, cut 2 pieces of ribbons to be used as side hangers. Here I cut out 2 pieces that are 12 inches long, but you can decide how long you want to cut it.

Then use the hot glue gun to glue one end of each ribbon to the ring which you will later use to hang your finished hair bow holder. You can use a metal circle as your ring.

Now attach the other end of these ribbon strips to the hoop half circle (on the inside, as shown).

Now, it’s time to prepare the ribbons you are going to use to hang from the hair bow holder.

Cut them all so that they are of the same length. Lay them down in the same order that you want to hang them in.

Now, if you want to make the hair bow holder look more visually appealing, you can use some rick rack with sheer ribbon as I did.

Then use your hot glue gun to attach all the ribbon ends to the inside of the hoop half.

Now we need to cut some tulle to give the hair bow holder a visual base. We will have some netting sitting behind the ribbons.

Make sure to cut the tulle bigger than the hoop, and it should also be longer than the ribbons.

Then attach the tulle with your hot glue gun to the hoop to form the inside layer, with the ribbons laying above it.

We will finish off by covering the hoop’s exterior with decorative stuff such as ribbon trims and buttons.

You can also cut off any excess ribbons poking out from the top of the hoop.

And there you have it, a beautiful hair bow holder that looks great and saves you hours from having to look for those hair bows ever again.
